Easter Celebrations!

I can't believe that Easter is almost over and it's back to work tomorrow! :( Normally we have more holidays at this time and an extra week to recuperate. This year however we have to wait two more weeks for that privilege! Darn.....two more weeks of work!

Yesterday, we spent the day at Bellbird Grove with family. This is a nice little (ok, big!) park just past The Gap in Brisbane. It's amazing to think that only 12 km out of the city you can get this type of rural environment, isn't it!

Most of the day was spent cooking up a bbq, eating, resting, talking and entertaining children. There is a little dam that my SIL walked the children to and Miss 8 spent the rest of the afternoon saying how great it was! Of course, we also had the usual Easter egg hunt and family game of cricket!

And the other highlight was a visit from the local, friendly goanna (or lace monitor)! Actually, I think that there are a few of them there, but this one was pretty game (about a metre from nose to tail, too)- coming very close to inspect what we were doing so close to its environment and then posing for some great photos! Lol! A show-off lizard!!!

So in all, it was a quiet, relaxing Easter. Hope yours was just as nice!
